Alice Mae Stanbery, age 96, of Hamilton, passed away at Bradford Place on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was born in Toledoon July 21, 1918, to Stephan and Stella (Jazionowski) Nowakowski. Alice was employed as a clerk for the County Commissioners Office and the Board of Elections in Lucas County. She was a member of St.Hedwig Parish and Rosary Cathedral in Toledo for many years. On December 19, 1942, in Toledo, she married Sanford Richard Stanbery, and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1972. Her family was her life. She is survived by her children, Paul (Patricia) Stanbery of Hamilton, Michael (Paula) Stanbery of Knoxville, TN, and Fr. Stephan Stanbery, of Archbold, OH; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Teresa Karwowski, and one infant brother Casimir Nowakowski.Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for family only. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Toledo,OH on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Little Sisters of the Poor.Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com
