Death notice: Harold W. BITTERLING, 62, Rt. 4, Winamac, died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday in his home. He had been in failing health two years. He was born Oct. 29, 1921 in Pulaski County to Charles and Bertha SHIDAKER BITTERLING. He lived most of his life in the Winamac area. He was married Oct. 5, 1963 in Winamac to Helen ROWE PANICI, who survives. A member of the Teamsters Union, he retired in 1983 from Winamac Steel. Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Judy MARKLEY, Winamac; two sons, Jerry [BITTERLING], Logansport, and Jay [BITTERLING], Winamac; a step-daughter, Barbara FOSTER, Burrows; a step-son, Steve PANICI, Winamac; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three sisters, Frances WERNER and Norma EVANS, both of Rochester, and Annabelle SPARKS, Winamac; a brother, Keneth [BITTERLING], Rochester, and the mother, Bertha BITTERLING, Rochester. A son, Jackie [BITTERLING], preceded in death. Services wil be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Frain Mortuary in Winamac with the Rev. John SARGENT officiating. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Sunday until time of services. - [S289] Death Records (Reliability: 4).
