Obituary in the Fort Wayne (IN) News Sentinel. Saturday, November 11, 1933: Daniel Garwood Milligan, aged 43, for the past 10 years an official of S.F. Bowser & Company, died suddenly of angina pectoris at his home, 2528 Hoagland Avenue, at 1:15 a.m. today. He was taken ill with heart trouble a week ago, but his death was caused by the sudden attack today. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Peltier Funeral Home, with the Rev. Linwood R. Berry officiating. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Marshall McKay, Dr. Maurice R. Lohman, M.P. (Pat) O'Connor, D.M. Jones, Louis W. Kohler, Walter Kennedy, Guy S. Means and Arthur Rose. The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Mr. Milligan was born in Waveland on July 11, 1890, where his father, Wilbur Milligan, conducted a general merchandise store. He moved with his family to Garnett, Kan., and later to Crawfordsville where he was graduated from high school in 1908. The following two years he spent in Wabash College, where he specialized in the study of chemistry. In 1914 he married Miss Verne Bowser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.F. Bowser. In 1918, Mr. Milligan enlisted in the United States Army. Surviving Mr. Milligan are the widow, a daughter, Miss Mary Margaret Milligan, at home; his mother, Mrs. Emma Linder, at home, and a stop-brother, Dr. William Linder, of Washington, D.C. A son, Daniel G. Milligan Jr., preceded him in death.
